This April, the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas named the winners of their 2016 award categories. These awards acknowledge excellence in areas from advocacy to education to marketing among credit unions across all of North Dakota and South Dakota. Citizens Community Credit Union (CCCU) earned first place in four categories.
“We believe it’s our duty as a local credit union to give back to our members and the communities we serve as much as we can,” said Darwin Brokke, CCCU President. “These awards are a feather in our cap recognizing that commitment amongst credit unions across the Dakotas.”
For their overall commitment to the community, CCCU was honored with the Louise Herring Award which acknowledged CCCU’s commitment to the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People,” and the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award for their dedication to community service. In 2015 and 2016, CCCU supported over 100 local causes.
They also received accolades for two specific activities. CCCU was given the Desjardin Financial Education Award for their commitment to financial education in both the adult and youth categories.
And, finally, CCCU took home the Marketing and Communication Award for their ICU Doing Great Things Facebook campaign. This campaign was held in conjunction with International Credit Union (ICU) Day this past fall and acknowledged employees who went above and beyond doing great things for the community and their members.
